Giles Milton est un historien et écrivain, spécialiste de l’histoire des voyages et des explorations. Diplômé de l’Université de Bristol, il collabore à de nombreuses revues et journaux anglais et étrangers. Il est à l’origine de nombreux ouvrages de non-fiction, ainsi que d’un recueil d’histoires inattendues. Giles Milton a également écrit trois livres pour enfants, dont deux illustrés par sa femme Alexandra. Ses ouvrages sont traduits dans vingt-cinq langues.
